Where the land has held Shakthi for centuries
Shakthi Retreat is an immersion in a place where Shakthi has been worshipped and the land has held practice for generations. You don’t come to learn about tradition. You come to move within it.
The aartis happen. The rituals unfold. The rhythm continues as it has for centuries. You are simply there, breathing the same air, moving through the same days.
This is for someone who understands the difference between visiting a sacred place and being inside one while it lives.
Some lands hold more.
There are places where worship has continued unbroken for centuries — powerful Shakthi energy centres, where the same prayers have been offered every morning and every evening for longer than anyone can remember. Such land is not a backdrop. It holds what generations have poured into it.
Practicing on land like this is not the same as practicing in a studio. The setting is not incidental. It is part of the practice.

Older than religion.
Temples were never religious in their original form. Religion came much later. What the ancients built were instruments — places where the energy of the universe was harnessed, selectively, for a specific purpose, and consecrated into a deity. It was not a belief system. It was a way of life, and a mastery.
Nowhere else on earth was this done the way it was done in the East. And if it was never religion to begin with, its benefits do not belong to any one people. They are there for whoever comes prepared to receive them.
This is the premise of Shakthi Retreat: yoga practiced inside a field of Shakthi that has been worshipped and kept alive for ages. The practice is powerful on its own. In such a place, its effect multiplies.

Not a yoga holiday.
Not a wellness package.
A residential retreat built around Surya Kriya. A complete immersive experience where the practice, the land, the temples, food, and the elements all work together.
This is a complete experience for someone who already knows why they are coming.
Now at Serendip, Goa.
The first Shakthi Retreat lives on land held by the goddess temples of Ponda. Four nights, five days, five participants — built around Surya Kriya.
Explore the retreatSomeone with a certain quality of seeking.
Who knows the difference between a retreat and a vacation. Who will not need to be convinced that Ponda’s goddess temples matter — they will feel it when they read about it.
It may be someone who has practiced for years and wants to go deeper in the right setting. A couple wanting to do something meaningful together. Someone at a turning point.
The retreat is open to all. The land does not discriminate.
Two ways in.
Learn the practice at a workshop — a few hours, a small group, taught precisely by Isha Hatha Yoga teachers. Or step into the retreat, and live inside the practice for five days on land where Shakthi is worshipped.
We come from this land.
Shakthi Retreat is an initiative with a conviction: that the energy held in lands with ancient goddess temples is a living force — to be practiced within, not merely visited.
Pankaj Lad, Founder of Planet Life, is from the land of Gopakapattanam — Gomantak — now known as Goa. His ancestors consecrated some of these temples: this is not land he discovered, it is land he comes from.
He practices Hatha Yoga in the lineage of Agastya Muni, as taught by Isha Yoga Centre founded by Sadhguru. It was his own practice — deepening at Serendip, carried into trance at the Mahalaxmi aarti — that became the seed of Shakthi Retreat.
Shakthi Retreat is co-created by Astha, an Isha Hatha Yoga teacher from the Isha School of Hatha Yoga. Kaulina, our lead instructor, teaches the practices in person, step by step — because a practice transmitted properly stays with you for life.
We keep the retreats small — five people at a time — and we hold them only where Shakthi is worshipped.
